Some funny things
Jul. 16th, 2002 11:17 pmSmall updates....
The movie “The Rookie” made me exceedingly happy this evening. Much more so than I thought it would.
Conversation excerpt between a coworker and I this afternoon:
I can’t believe you bike here in this weather, Theresa! Aren’t you hot?
Yeah, this weather isn’t the greatest to bike in.... [actually, ninety-degree weather is quite pleasant....]
Why do you bike here every day?
It’s better than walking? I don’t have a car. [really and truly, if I had a car, I’d be driving it to work.]
Oh, is your car in Omaha?
No, I don’t have a car. [I thought we went over this?]
Why don’t your parents just buy you one?
Then I got to explain that no, my sister doesn’t have a car either, and no, it’s really not that big of a problem at school, and yes, there is a reason I chose to find a job in biking distance from my house, and so on.... No more comments from me needed for you guys- you’re all shaking your heads, too.
I got a response back from Jim today, and while it didn’t put us on the same page as far as beliefs go, at least we’ve been honest with each other. And we’re still friends, which makes me feel more content about the situation.
JenandCodakandBeth come on Friday!!! Hooray!
Watermelon socks. No, not socks with little watermelons on them, but socks made to look like watermelons. On sale for $1.40 at Target. I win!
P.S. This is the first time I have used italics and bold here! Are you so proud?
