....sun protection, that is.
Annette, Shannon, Catherine, and I tubed down the Apple River today, and it was glorious- a river-dirty, sun-hot, butt-bumping glorious time. I hadn’t been there for ages, probably seven or eight years. It was just a nice way to spend a summer day, especially for some lovely not-currently-employed ladies. I did manage to remember to use sunscreen, but I also managed to get burned anyways. Yes, Shannon, I do have little circle marks under my collarbone where the rings attach my straps to the rest of my swimsuit! Neat!
I’m reminded again how nice it feels to have friends here, to have people to talk with about real things. How nice it is to be able to talk about abortion, as well! I didn’t realize how I sort of silence myself unintentionally when surrounded by 11 anti-abortion roommates. That’s okay, but it feels good to be able to talk freely about it with Shannon and Annette.
The big news of CVV is that Jake “popped the question” to Siobhann, and now it looks as if there will be another reunion of “The Best CVV Group EVER” next spring for a wedding! Hooray! It’s very exciting, not at all surprising, and wonderfully bizarre all at once. Mostly, it’s exciting!
Things are going well in my neck of the woods these days. A few more resumes out, a few more hours of Dawson’s Creek seen, and a few more hours of work put in at church to get me prepared for Vacation Bible Camp next week.
