terrypurple73Things got better after my weepiness Thursday night. I showered, ate dinner, and generally calmed myself down. It helped when in a weepy, whiny voice, I said to myself, "I just want to talk to my Mana!" So I did that, and when I got up yesterday, I was reasonably patient for the last day of Vacation Bible Camp (at Lava Lava Island- Where Jesus' Love Flows! oh gosh).
Bible Camp was fun this week, if exhausting. At the start of the week, I was really enjoying being back in charge of a classroom of little kids- reminded me that I do have a gift in that area. By the end of the week, I was still enjoying myself, but with an additional whole new respect and admiration for kindergarten teachers. Did you hear that, Miss Vela? My goodness.
William and I caught up on CLC yesterday, which was good. Then instead of spending my Friday night staying in and packing for Denver, I stayed in and hung out with my mom, not doing any packing at all. Clearly, this was a stellar use of my time. It really was good to just sit around, talk, and be bitchy together about work and stupid people. :)
I started the countdown yesterday- it was the two-weeks-til-I-leave day. I move to Denver in now less than two weeks. Two weeks from now I will be unpacking in my home for the next year. Two weeks from right now, my mom and I will be exploring this new city that I have never been to. I will spend the following week doing my orientation with my thirteen new community members of Colorado Vincentian Volunteers, and on August 16, I begin my work at The Gathering Place (specifically with the greeting card project and writers' group).
