I got the most wonderfulest email from my dad the other day after he got back home after the MLK ceremony. I might have been showing it off to people since I received it. And then I might not have been shutting up about how good it was to see my parents. I'd been saying before they came that I didn't care so much if I got the award or not, I was just excited to see my family. And that turned out to be exactly true. It would have been great to get one of the awards, but I really wasn't upset that it didn't happen. I had all these people together to be excited for me, and I loved that. My parents got to meet everyone that they hadn't met yet, and they got to see my friends that they already knew. I just felt special.
Also, I wrote to Bill the other day just to drop a note of Hello and update on how my things at Salvation Army are going without him these days. And I got a response back from him yesterday that was really, really sweet. First, he said he was excited to hear from me (with exclamation points!). And I'd told him about how I was going to teach Readiness Class on Tuesday (which I didn't end up doing yet. We postponed the class a week because there was only one resident able to make it. So next week.). He said that I was born to teach that class, and that he knew I would do a great job! That means a lot coming from someone who sat in on all those classes with me each week last semester. He knows how the program operates, and he thinks I will do a wonderful job. Hooray!
I am a big nerd. Next time, I will talk about more Salvation Army things and decisions and whatnot.
