I imagine those of you applying to graduate school have not yet been instructed to:

Please create a visual image of yourself now and how you imagine yourself to be after a year with [top priority volunteer program].

Awesome. But I don't even know how to start.

My next top choice is asking for a one-page and two three-page essays.

And hey, does anyone want to be a personal reference?

Hey, haven't checked my e-mail in forever. Happy Birthday (this is way late, I know) and we will definitely celebrate when you are back in town. I miss you! Why don't we live together! I want to talk to you about my job interview and Phoenix, and the scariness of next year and not knowing what is going on and all sorts of stuff. Come back to Omaha! Right now!

I miss you too. I want to hear all about your trip and your interview and your life and everything. Can we make a date for some time when I get back? Monday or Tuesday some time? (We have Community retreat until Monday afternoon.) I hate you. Why don't we live together?? I don't understand.

Anyways, I hope your time in AZ was good. Home has been nice and relaxing and sleepful, but busy some days too. But hey, no twenty-page papers over THIS Christmas vacation!
