Mar. 25th, 2003 07:23 pmOh goodness, don't TELL me I'm actually finding classes interesting?!? :) We had John's class tonight, Individuals and Families, and it went really well. I just felt so engaged and interested, more so than I usually do. I think the entire curriculum re-clicked with me now that I am getting closer to practicum next year. I can envision myself with clients, so all the skills we're learning actually seem relevant. They seem practical and useful. Before, they still seemed so abstract, and now I can see myself working with clients in the near future. I'm trusting again that social work IS the right place for me, and I believe I will be good in the field. Isn't that nice to hear again? !! I'm getting excited to do work in the housing and homelessness field. So many of the big issues I am passionate about don't directly relate to social work, it seems. At least, they don't relate to the micro aspect. So I wanted to find a field that I was interested in and passionate about where I could do micro, one-on-one work, as well as bigger, policy-type-stuff. I want to gain practical knowledge, know about how homelessness works and what goes on. I am really excited. I'm so pleased that things are clicking and seeming to make sense, that they are relevant. Hooray!
