practicum

Well, I turned in my SWK form of a resume (social agency experience, leadership activities, what I want out of my practicum, and my strengths and challenges as a social worker) to Barb today, and it went well. We did half of our semesterly advising appointment (the part where I say, "I'm taking this and this and this next semester," and she says, "sounds good."), and she talked to me about the calls she's made for practicum. It looks like I might end up at Salvation Army, which I think could be cool. I know I bitched about it last semester, but that was required hours having to work with dumb people who wouldn't call me back. I decided I wanted to work with housing issues for practicum, and Barb thinks Salvation Army would be a better experience than a shelter would be. So I'm a little sad that Vincent House probably won't work out (that was a top choice for me), but it'll be fine. I'm excited for next year. I know it'll be a dang lot of work, but I know it will be good, too. I'm just getting all excited already. :)
